The Cooper House: old and new

Built by Robert M. Prince, Sr. in the early 1900s, The Cooper House is now part of the Socastee Historic District. The first tender, or operator, of the nearby swing bridge boarded at the house.

In its day, the adjacent T. B. Cooper General Store served an important role in the community for shopping and social events. After Thomas B. Cooper was appointed postmaster for the Socastee area in 1908, the T.B. Cooper General Store became an official Horry County post office.

This grand old place is once again available for your social and business events. Come enjoy its solid historical roots and make some history of your own. Our rental fees include seating for up to 100 and initial event planning. Call us for more information at (842) 236-7077.
